STRELITZIA STAKES (Grade 3) - THE SECRET IS OUT

5-1-2-7-6

The previous feature race was dominated largely by the KZN trainers. This one appears to have bypassed the local trainers for top honours in the race. THE SECRET IS OUT makes his KZN debut. He won on debut at Kenilworth last time when he won with authority by almost four lengths. He does look the sort that could be followed with some conviction during the Winter Season. Vaughan Marshall, who skipped last year's season, has made up for that by bringing a strong string to KZN this time around. She was sent out at 4/10 on debut which says that she is well above average. Stable jockey, MJ Byleveld has the ride again.

Mike De Kock, whose KZN's string has been quiet in recent weeks, sends out the unbeaten AL HAWRAA. Both runs have been over the track but over 100 metres shorter. Young and up and coming jockey, Callan Murray, has the ride for the first time. She has really finished well in both starts and should be one of the early fancies to win this feature.

Trainer Mike Bass also has an unbeaten two year old filly line up in this race. WAKE UP MAGGIE will probably not need a wake up call as she has looked alert in both starts at Kenilworth. She has raced handy in both starts and has that late kick to pull away in the latter stages. She will be an interesting runner during the season. Anton Marcus rides.

VISUALITY lost a length on debut last time but still won with authority. This Sean Tarry runner should also give a good account of herself. S'Manga Khumalo has chosen to ride her instead of stable companion, TOUCHING, who won well on debut last time. She will be ridden by Cape Town jockey, Grant Van Niekerk.
