DAISY FILLIES GUINEAS (Grade 2) - SILVER MOUNTAIN to atone for last two defeats

1-2-3-8-6

Greyville night racing has been festive affairs in recent times with very good crowds soaking up the mild to warm autumn evenings. Racegoers who will be attending tonight should be treated to some exhilarating racing, especially in the two Grade 2 events. One knows when the Winter Season is here when you have horses of the calibre of LEGISLATE, in the Drill Hall Stakes and SILVER MOUNTAIN in this race.

SILVER MOUNTAIN is a top class three year old daughter of SILVANO. She was unlucky when she took on the boys in the Grade 1 Cape Guineas at Kenilworth at the end of last year. She was cut into in that race but still managed to finish less than a length behind the winner, NOAH FROM GOA. This will be her first run in Durban, but not for her trainer, Mike Bass, who has a fantastic record in Durban during the Winter Season . Last time she was well supported in the $1 000 000 Cape Thoroughbred Sales at Kenilworth in January. She was surprisingly beaten close home that day. She has a very good late run. She has run only seven times for four wins but has earned a staggering R4.3 million. Big race and top jockey, Bernard Fayd'Herbe rides for the first time. Top horse, top chance.

Fellow Cape Town trainer, Justin Snaith, saddles BELA-BELA. This daughter of DYNASTY, won her first two but bumped SILVER MOUNTAIN and SMART CALL last time. We all know about both horses with the latter looking super-impressive at Turffontein last time. She may have quite a bit to find on SILVER MOUNTAIN, but she looks to be one that is almost guaranteed to show improvement in her next few runs. Top local jockey Anthony Delpech rides.

NEGROAMARO is also top class. She ran two excellent seconds in the first two legs of the Triple Tiara at Turffontein in her last two. She comes into this race as a highly rated three year old filly with a huge potential. Young trainer, Johan Janse Van Vuuren, certainly has a gem in his yard. Top Gauteng jockey Weichong Marwing has the ride.

My goodness me, another filly with class, INTERGALACTIC, from the Sean Tarry yard, has a money chance in this race. She has run against some useful sorts, namely INANINSTANT and INARA. Anton Marcus has the ride. She is extremely consistent.

FLYING ICE could sneak into the quartets. A Neil Bruss trained horse.Takes on stronger but in with a place chance.
