CAPTAIN AL and SILVANO take top honours for South African Racing SIRES OF THE WEEKEND from Friday 27 May to Sunday 29 May

It was only a matter of time before CAPTAIN AL would top the list of winners sired in South Africa. He tied this weekend with SILVANO, featured last week as well. CAPTAIN AL sired three winners that won this past weekend.

All three of his winners came in one meeting. That was on Saturday at Kenilworth.

SILVANO's three winners were more spread out. His first arrived on Friday at Fairview and his next two both were at Greyville on Saturday.

CAPTAIN AL currently stands at Klawervlei Stud. CAPTAIN AL has sired 11 Grade 1 winners which include CAPTAIN OF ALL, ALL IS SECRET, CAPTAIN'S LOVER, CARRY ON ALICE, ALBERT MOONEY, EMERALD COVE, PINE PRINCESS, CAPTAIN AMERICA, HILL FIFTY FOUR, EXHILARATION, and CAPTAIN'S GAL.

CAPTAIN AL won the Grade 1 Cape Guineas. He won the Champion Sire of two year olds seven consecutive years. His progeny have amassed over R110 000 000 in stakes.
