EVA A FIRST FOR FRANKEL

Unbeaten filly Fair Eva became the first stakes winner for unbeaten superstar Frankel when she landed the G3 Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

The chestnut (who, like her famed sire, races for Juddmonte Farms) could hardly have been more impressive –and raced to a facile four length romp on just her second racecourse appearance.

Frankel has made a spectacular start to his stud career –with his first ten runners having yielded seven winners, and Fair Eva could run next in the Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes.

She is out of the top class racemare African Rose, whose three wins included the Gr1 Park Sprint Cup and she also finished second in the Gr1 Prix Maurice De Gheest.

Regarded by many as the greatest racehorse ever seen in Europe, Frankel went unbeaten in 14 outings and was a Horse Of The Year at both three and four, and rated a champion at two, three and four.

His victories included 10 at Group 1 level –notably the 2000 Guineas, Sussex Stakes (twice), Champion Stakes, QE II Stakes, Juddmonte International, Dewhurst Stakes and the Queen Anne Stakes. Frankel put up a stunning performance in the latter race, bursting clear to register an 11 length win at the expense of triple Gr1 winner Excelebration.

A son of the mighty Galileo and the stakes winning Danehill mare Kind, Frankel is a full brother to triple Gr1 winner Noble Mission, who currently stands at Lane’s End Farm for $25 000.
