Former top class racemare She’s On Fire had a weekend to remember when her progeny did her proud in two different provinces.

A daughter of former Horse Of The Year and seven times champion sire Jet Master, She’s On Fire’s daughter Icy Fire (who races for the Ridgemont Stud) picked up some valuable black type when running on strongly for second place in Saturday’s Gr3 Final Fling Stakes at Kenilworth.

And, just 24 hours after this gritty performance, She’s On Fire’s two-year-old son Blazing Winter broke his maiden when scoring over 1450m at Turffontein on Sunday. The colt races for Anant and Vanashree Singh, in partnership with Team Valor.

Both Blazing Winter and Icy Fire are by the now deceased sire Western Winter.

She’s On Fire has now been represented by four foals to race –all of whom have won –including Listed East Cape Oaks winner She’s A Pippa (by Var), and Listed East Cape Oaks third place finisher Bountiful Harvest.

A granddaughter of July winner Devon Air, She’s On Fire won six times, with her victories coming from 1300-2000m. She scored the biggest win of her career when landing the Gr2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes by a staggering 8.75 lengths and also captured the 2008 Gr3 Jubilee Handicap and finished second to Eddington in the 2008 Gr1 GommaGomma Challenge.
