Cape Thoroughbred Sales will hold their annual August Two-Year-Old Sale at Durbanville racecourse this Saturday.

The one day event will get underway from 18:00pm, with pre-sales drinks scheduled to be served from 16:00pm onwards.
The Two-Year-Old Sale, which is in its second year, received a massive boost recently when former graduate Querari Falcon (Querari) won the recent Gr1 Thekwini Stakes at Greyville.

A R90 000 buy from the inaugural Two-Year-Old Sale, Querari Falcon is one of three nominees for the title of Equus Champion Two-Year-Old Filly.

While there are no 2yos on offer by Querari this year, a number of South Africa’s best sires will be represented at the 2016 August Two-Year-Old Sale.

They include last season’s leading first crop sire Gimmethegreenlight (More Than Ready), Greys Inn-sire of likely Horse Of The Year Legal Eagle, Ideal World (Kingmambo), Judpot (A P Indy), Pathfork (Distorted HUmor), Philanthropist (Kris S), Silvano (Lomitas) and South Africa’s reigning champion sire Trippi (End Sweep).

Stallions with their first local 2yos on offer include former G1 Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade (Mr Greeley), Horse Of The Year Irish Flame (Dynasty), dual Canadian champion Marchfield (A P Indy), and European champion Twice Over (Observatory).
