FIRST GROUP WINNER FOR SLIPPER WINNER

Darley Stud’s promising young Gr1 Golden Slipper winning sire Sepoy (Elusive Quality) was represented by his first group winner when daughter Kilmah landed Saturday’s Prestige Stakes at Goodwood.
A winner of two of three starts to date, the Mark Johnston trained filly made all to score a gutsy neck victory in Saturday’s 1400m contest, with Promising (Invincible Spirit) back in second place and Urban Fox (Foxwedge) another two and a quarter lengths away in third position.

The well related Prestige Stakes winner is out of former Listed Space Property Rosemary Stakes winner Perfect Star (Act One), who is also responsible for the stakes placed filly Tears Of The Sun (Mastercraftsman).

Two-Year-Old Kilmah is a member of her sire’s first Northern Hemisphere crop –a crop which also includes the stakes winner Baileys Showgirl.

Sepoy, whose first Southern Hemisphere crop are just recently turned three, is currently among the top ten Leading First Crop Sires, with Kilmah his top earner to date.

A son of Champion US Sire Elusive Quality, Sepoy was an outstanding racehorse in Australia, where he won ten of 14 outings, with his victories including the Gr1 Golden Slipper (over subsequent multiple G1 winner Mosheen), Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes, Gr1 Sportingbet Manikato Stakes, and Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.

The exceptionally well bred Sepoy is a half brother to Gr2 Autumn Stakes hero Mulaazem (Dubai Destination), and his Danehill sired dam, Watchable, is a full sister to Gr1 Queensland Derby winner Camarena. This is also the family of former Gr1 Golden Slipper winner and successful sire Canny Lad (the latter featuring as the broodmare sire of current SA sire sensation Gimmethegreenlight).
