Silvano Colt Wins On Debut

Rownak from the Geoff Woodruff yard drew first blood at the Vaal yesterday, winning the opening race of the day, to make a perfect start to his career as a racehorse.

He was ridden to perfection by work rider Goodman Dadamasi, who got the very best out of the four year old colt. Rownak ran on smartly, like a horse who will appreciate even more ground than the mile he encountered here, and his pedigree suggests that this could very well be the case. He is out of a Galileo mare who won over ten furlongs, if his breeding tells us anything, it's that the further he goes, the better he will become.

Rownak is a son of former champion sire, Silvano (GER) who has sired numerous Grade/Group 1 winners inc Vercingetorix, King's Gambit, Aslan, Bravura, Field Flower, Seal, Filtration, Martial Eagle, Do You Remember, Happy Valentine, and two Vodacom Durban July winners, Heavy Metal and Bold Silvano, to name but a few. This colt may develop into any of the names, mentioned above, and every punter across the nation should follow him very closely, at least until he is beaten
