THIRD STAKES WINNER FOR FRANKEL

Legendary champion Frankel (Galileo) was represented by his third stakes winner when his son Frankuus ran out a very game winner of the Listed 32red Casino Stakes (Registered as the Ascendant Stakes) at Haydock on Saturday.

The game grey colt, who is trained by Mark Johnston, made it win number two when holding off Star Of Rory (Born To Sea) with fellow Frankel colt Cunco back in third position.

Frankuus, who holds entries in both the Gr2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes and Gr1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes (both races previously won by his mighty sire) is likely to have one more run this year before being put away for a three year old campaign.

He is out of the Linamix mare Dookus, who is also the dam of Gr3 Prix Thomas Bryon hero US Law (Lawman). Dookus’ own dam is Gr1 Heinz “57” Phoenix Stakes winner Pharoahs Delight (Fairy King).

Unbeaten in 14 outings, Frankel (the highest rated horse in Timeform history) currently stands at Banstead Manor in Newmarket.

His first crop has made a huge impression and already include the group winning fillies Fair Eva and Queen Kindly, as well as the undefeated Seven Heavens.

Frankel, one of more than 50 Group/Grade One winners for Galileo, has stood for a fee of £125 000 since retiring to stud.
