Noble Nel Produces For Plattner

Willem Andre Nel, who little over a year ago took the reins as trainer at international business women, Sabine Plattner's private establishment, based on the majestic Jakkalsfontein nature reserve, has had an extremely productive weekend with just a hand full of runners.

The stable had a perfect afternoons racing at Durbanville on Saturday, they brought a single runner to the track, and went home with a winner. It was time for race number four, and Jockey Aldo Domeyer as he has done so many times in the past, threw on the grass green, indigo and gold silks and cantered his mount down to the start. There was absolutely no pressure to win this contest, and he duly obliged, scoring his fourth win of the season from twenty three rides, aboard Cuduiari who shed his maiden tag at the sixth time of asking. It was a very special moment as this four year old bay gelding was also bred by his owners, La Plasiance Stud.

Racing took place on the poly at Greyville this afternoon, and Nel had slightly more to work with than his previous meeting. His victorious sole entrant had set standard in the Cape yesterday, and his Natal string had every intention of matching it, by the looks of things. Nel stepped out three runners, the first of which came in the fifth race of a scheduled nine. Alesnado ran a much better race than she did last time out, she finished third and won't be long in breaking her maiden. In the sixth race on the card Argo's Jet ran a respectable fourth, he is a trojan warrior, an extremely consistent individual. The grey gelding, Born To Rule was loaded into the starting gates in the seventh race on the programme, and picked up his fourth career win from twenty six outings, under apprentice Serino Moodley, he is a decent stayer who always gives of his best, another winner for La Plasiance Stud. Overall Nel had four runners, two winners, a third, and a fourth. Plattner racing is firing on all cylinders at the moment, and all of their runners in the future should be taken very seriously.
