JULY WINNER’S DAUGHTER SET FOR TURFFONTEIN DEBUT

Former Gr1 Vodacom Durban July winner Dancer’s Daughter (Act One) is set to be represented by her fourth runner this Saturday.
Her three-year-old daughter Delightful Dancer (Dynasty) will make her debut for trainer David Niewenhuizen when she lines up in the third race, a maiden plate over 1450m at Turffontein on Saturday.

Owned by Danny and Ronel Collins, the grey filly is out of one of the best racemares to have graced the South African turf in recent years.

Equus Champion Older Female in 2008-2009, and Champion Older Female Miler in 2007-2008, the British bred Dancer’s Daughter won 11 races from 1200-2200m and earned R3.9 million during her illustrious career.
Trained by Justin Snaith, the charismatic grey’s five Gr1 victories included a stunning dead-heat, with triple Horse Of The Year Pocket Power (Jet Master), in the 2008 Vodacom Durban July.

Dancer’s Daughter, who raced in the famed brown and white Beck silks, also won the 2008 Gr1 Gold Challenge (beating Pocket Power), Gr1 Empress Club Stakes, Gr1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes and Gr1 Paddock Stakes. The latter race saw the brilliant grey account for the likes of Carry On Katie (dam of current star Carry On Alice), as well as Gr1 J&B Met winner River Jetez (Jet Master).

Her previous foals include the useful Dashing Scarlet (Western Winter) who won twice over 1400m, and who has since been retired to Wilgerbosdrift.
