Vaal Classic Thursday September 29th

 Race 1

#8 Gold Medalist: Was a runner up on debut over this distance, he was very unlucky to have cast a shoe on that ocassion, and ran very well all things considered, top jockey Gavin Lerena climbs  aboard him, and that will only improve his chances.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #3 William Grace, #10 Thanks Again, 1 King Of The Cloth

Race 2

#2 British Royale: Emerged victorious in Novice Plate last time out, he is a clearly a very progressive sort, and he could be going places if he continues to do well. Promising young rider, Lyle Hewitson who has won on him twice takes the ride.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #6 Shivering Sea, #3 Danza, #4 Rightful King

Race 3

#4 Enchanted Rock: Made some improvement over further at the second time of asking, but what could make the difference with him is the fact that he has been gelded and rested for 116 days. He also takes on an extremely weak maiden field, former champion jockey Andrew Fortune will partner him.

Swinger with #6 Raydaveric

Race 4

#7 Burundi Bush: Had to settle for second place on debut, she does back from a short break of 63 days, which could only have done her a world of good. She should take a power of beating under quality jockey, Karl Zechner.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #8 Claremorris, 10# Orchid Island, #6 Flamingo Vlei

Race 5

#3 Rafa: Won a good race in his latest performance, he took on a strong field and showed every inch of his class, he now steps down in company and looks the horse to beat.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #2 Daspoort, #5 Just Africa, #6 Cannes

Race 6

#1 Wukkin Up: Must be forgiven for a below part effort in her last start, she was not disgraced when running in a feature on that ocassion, and will be far more competitive back in a handicap. Talented apprentice, Lyle Hewitson will be in the irons.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #3 Allegorical, #4 Finding Alice, #2 Be Mine Tonight

Race 7

#4 Wind Chill: Got it right at the third time of asking, the form from that race has been franked, with Miss Turbo who ran second to her, shedding her maiden tag. She is a well bred individual and can follow up under a confident Chase Maujean.

2nd, 3rd, 4th: #7 She's A Flirt, #1 Chartwell, #9 Catch A Thief

Race 8

#12 Crown Court: Played second fiddle on debut, over a furlong less. She would of come on leaps and bounds from that experience, and she should relish the rise in distance. Last season's champion apprentince, Callan Murray takes the ride.

2nd , 3rd, 4th: #1 Vogue's Wood, #2 Rose Water, #7 Chapati.

Best Bets: Gold Medalist, British Royale, Wukkin Up, Crown Court.
