Smart Call heads Sun Chariot entries

South Africa Grade 1 winner, Smart Call is the unknown factor to the British Racing public as she preps for the Breeders' Cup with a run in the UK. The Jessica Slack owned mare heads the Sun Chariot Stakes entries at Newmarket for trainer Alec Laird and jockey Anthony Delpech.

Alice Springs heads the European challenge in a field of nine declared for the Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes.

Aidan O'Brien's filly will bid to take her Group One haul to three after victories in the Falmouth Stakes on the July Course and the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

She is the only Irish challenger in the line-up but there are three French raiders - Ervedya, Siyoushake and Volta - while Smart Call represents South Africa.

Keeping up the British end are Saeed bin Suroor's Always Smile, David Elsworth's Arabian Queen, the Martyn Meade-trained Irish Rookie and Epsom Icon from Mick Channon's stable.

The only withdrawal at the 48-hour final declaration stage was Matron Stakes runner-up Persuasive.
