Samurai Puts Them To The Blade

One of the most hard knocking horses in South African racing is an Australian bred gelding by the name of Samurai Blade, the Sean Tarry inmate scored his much anticipated second career victory in a Novice Plate under promising young rider Craig Zackey at the Vaal this afternoon, and the importance of this win should not be underestimated by any stretch of the imagination, his conditioner brought him back to racing after competing in the Grade 1 Sansui Summer Cup last weekend at Turffontein, and there will surely be a method to this "madness".

Samurai Blade has been as honest as the day is long from the get go and his accomplishments as a three year old last season touted him as a top sort in the making, he was dual Group 1 placed and ran in the Vodacom Durban July, not bad for a horse who had only won just a single race at the time.

He is a son of Where's That Tiger (AUS) out of Shao Shao (AUS) by Shinko Forest (IRE) and was bred by Ever Green Stud Farm in New South Wales. This talented individual runs in the yellow and blue silks of Mr Bernard Kantor who owns him in partnership with Larry Nestadt and A W Bott, one gets the feeling that the Samurai has just sharpened his blade to do battle in the season that lies ahead.
