Malan Du Toit To Assist With Fawree In Dubai

It is no secret that the Mike De Kock trained Fawree, is a horse with problems at the start. Fawree has loads of potential; he ran second on debut and was a runaway winner of his maiden next time out, when scoring as he liked by 5 lengths, but none of that is going to matter if he can't begin a race, Fawree disloged jockey Bernard Fayd'Herbe when the gates opened and the field for the 2017 Listed Al Bastakiya Stakes were send on their journey.

With De Kock, regular rider Bernard Fayd'Herbe and ERA starters, having addressed the issue as far as they possibly could, the situation will now be left in the capable hands of renowned equine behaviourist Malan Du Toit, who has been called upon to assist with Fawree's temperament.

Malan Du Toit has successfully rehabilitated the likes of Abashiri, Dynasty, Jay Peg, Legislate and Variety Club to name, but a few. When asked about Fawree and the trip to Dubai, Du Toit had the following to say "This will be a challenge, but I believe I can help with Fawree. There are a few official matters to attend to, including permission to work in Dubai. I’d also like to meet with the starter and his team, everyone involved to get the full picture. But the sooner the better. We need to cool Fawree down. He looks quite full of himself!”

If all goes well and Fawree is able to produce a satisfactory stalls test, he will run in the UAE Derby on World Cup Night.
