AWESOME WEEKEND FOR ASHTON

This past weekend will be a weekend that young 3rd year Apprentice Ashton Arries will remember for many years to come! At Greyville on Friday night, Ashton rode his first double as an apprentice jockey by winning Race 3 aboard No. 8 "NIGHT LOCK" trained by Craig Eudey and Race 6 aboard No. 6 "KINGSMEAD" trained by Michael Roberts.
However, Ashton wasn’t finished yet and filled with confidence and excited from riding his first double on Friday night, Ashton rode his first treble as an apprentice jockey at Scottsville on Sunday! Winning Race 2 aboard No. 14 "SIMPLY SCRUMPTIOUS", Race 4 aboard No. 3 "DOUBLE CLUTCH" and Race 6 aboard No. 8 "ROY'S AIR FORCE" with all three winning horses being trained by Paul Lafferty!
When asked for comment about his achievements this weekend, Ashton calmly said “I would firstly like to thank all the owners and trainers who give me rides, without the opportunities they give me as an apprentice, I wouldn’t be able to ride winners! I was confident going into the weekend as I was lucky enough to pick up some good rides for both Greyville and Scottsville meetings. I tried my very best to ride according to the instructions my trainers gave me and it paid dividends. It was very exciting riding my first double and treble this weekend, all the apprentices, jockeys and trainers congratulated me. But I won’t let these achievements go to my head and I will keep on working hard at track in the mornings, so that I can get the best rides possible for future race meetings.”
