Green Street, New Purchases

JUSTIN Vermaak’s progressive Green Street Bloodstock partnered with some of South Africa’s top racehorse owners to acquire purchases from the 2016 CTS Ready To Run Sale, who are already in training with promising reports coming to hand.
At last Friday’s 2017 CTS Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale GSB formed more new partnerships with some of the strongest owners in the game to further their goal of enabling syndicate members to race top quality bloodstock in the best stables.
Here are the five lots purchased from the Select Sale and the partnership details:
Lot 50 (R100,000)Unnamed Gimmethegreenlight colt from Teresina by Jet Master (Nadeson Park)This one was spotted by the expert eye of Chris Snaith and will go into training with Justin Snaith.
Lot 53 (R220,000)Unnamed colt by Count Du Bois from Tibetan Stone by National Assembly (Hemel N Aarde)To race in partnership with Chris van Niekerk and his son Erich and will be trained by Sean Tarry, who also has his half-brother Oracle Of Delphi.
Lot 109 (R75,000)Sparkeling Fire is a filly by Bold Silvano from Flame Of Fury by All Fired Up (Favour Stud)This is a lovely, scopy filly to be raced By GSB. Her dam is a half-sister to the mighty Jet Master. She will go to Joey Ramsden.
Lot 113 (pictured) (R100,000)This filly is also unnamed, by Jackson from Gee Pee S, by Goldkeeper, a mare from Favour Stud who incidentally won the Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship when ridden by GSB’s Bernard Fayd’Herbe. GSB has taken a share of of her with Laurence Wernars of New Predator fame and Johan Janse Van Vuuren will be the trainer.
Lot 156 (R50,000)Perfect Pursuit is a colt by King Of Kings from Model Mamselle by Model Man (BJ Sahd), not a fashionable sire but Sean Tarry loved this one and bought him on spec. GSB took a share to race him with Sean Tarry Racing. He happens to be a full-brother to King’s Temptress, who surprised all and sundry when winning the then Gr2 SA Nursery on debut, for a Kimberley trainer, and was Gr1, Gr2 and Gr3 placed after that.
