Lloyd breaks All time Record

The records keep tumbling for racing’s Benjamin Button - star hoop Jeff Lloyd. The South African rider moved over to Australia and has been a success wherever he has been.

Seven weeks after notching his 104th Brisbane metropolitan win of the season, which saw him surpass Chris Munce’s previous mark of 103 (set in 2011/12), Lloyd on Wednesday set a new state record for Queensland.
Heading into the midweek metropolitan meeting at Ipswich, Lloyd was on 153 wins – two shy of Munce’s record (also set in 2011/12).
Lloyd took until Race 5 to get on the board, scoring on Silky Brown for Bryan and Daniel Guy.
He doubled up in Race 7, equaling the record aboard the Gillian Heinrich and Ben Rodgers-trained Eight Below, after an absolute peach of a ride.
Fittingly, Lloyd broke the record on one of Toby Edmonds’ runners – Prontezza – which saluted in Race 9. Lloyd has developed a great association with Edmonds since moving to Queensland, and earlier this year they combined to take out the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic with flying filly Houtzen.

Lloyd claimed his first Brisbane jockeys’ premiership last season, chalking up 115 wins, 80 of those in town.
His achievements are quite incredible, not only because he's 56.
