11TH FIRST CROP GROUP WINNER FOR FRANKEL

When the mighty Frankel (Galileo) enjoyed a Group race double at Wednesday (his son Eminent won the Gr2 Prix Guillaume d”Ornano (over dual classic winner and Arc hope Brametot) and daughter Lady Frankel the Gr3 Prix de Lieurey), Lady Frankel became a remarkable 11th first crop group winner for the champion.

The champion son of Galileo, who stands at Banstead Manor in Newmarket and had a 2017 stud fee of £125 000, has made a remarkable impact with his first crop, who are now three. Among Frankel’s first crop stars are Japanese champion and classic winner Soul Stirring, Gr1Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby runner up Cracksman, G2 Prix Eugene Adam hero Finche, and Saturday’s Gr3 Betfred Rose Of Lancaster Stakes winner Frankuus.

Frankel, whose son Merovee became his first winner in Australia when scoring on Tuesday, went unbeaten in14 outings and built up a record which made him the highest rated horse in Timeform history. A champion at two, three and four, the dual Horse Of The Year won 10 Gr1 races, including the Qipco 2000 Guineas, Queen Anne Stakes (by 11 lengths), Juddmonte International Stakes, St James’s Palace Stakes, and Qipco Sussex Stakes (twice).

Frankel, who is reported to have been guesstimated to have a value of at least £100 000 000, has an exceptional crop of yearlings coming up for sale at both Goffs Orby Yearling Sale and Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1, with his drafts at the two premier sales including a half-sister to multiple Gr1 winner Hartnell, a colt out of Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Adoration, a half-sister to Gr1 winning sprinter Total Gallery, and a colt out of multiple Oaks winner Ramruma.
