Japanese Admire Deus Sold to Darren Weir for 2017 Melbourne Cup, Chances of Victory Discussed

Admire Deus who’s currently the best bet to win the upcoming 2017Melbourne Cup has just been sold off to an Australian syndicate. Now, the high-class Japanese stallion will leave its Asian roots in search for some Aussie gold this year.

It wasn’t an easy choice for Deus’ Japanese upbringing as he will need to adjust to the new climate and training sessions. However, it’s not that much of a problem, as a reputable and premier-winning trainer in the likes of Darren Weir will be taking care of things from now on. This brings Admire Deus to competing in the 2017 Caulfield and Melbourne Cup.

Admire Deus Transition from Japanese to Australian Hands
It wasn’t a smooth ride for the 6-year-old stallion as his co-racer, Admire Rakti, died a few minutes before the 2014 Melbourne Cup kicked off. It was then that all of the expectations from Rakti were passed to him. Since then, it was all hard work for Deus as he needs to make up for Riichi Kondo’s own aspirations. And over that three years, he proved that he’s got what it takes to effectively compete, having won four 1st place finishes, one 2nd place, and four 3rd places.

Because of this, Australian trainers can’t help but see the potential for Admire Deus to achieve greater accomplishments in his limited prime time. And the impending farewell for the Japanese-bred horse has finally turned into fruition as the Australian Bloodstock is confirmed to have finally purchased Deus for good.
Jamie Lovett, the one who initiated the purchase says in an interview that it is indeed an exciting time to get Admire Deus to race for the Aussies finally. He continues saying that the negotiations they had with the Japanese owners were a successful one as they tied up loose strings the last time they met. Lovett concludes that Admire Deus will be racing in the name of the Australian Bloodstock, together with eight other racing clients who wish to take part in the much-anticipated racing event.
It’s worth noting that Admire Deus’ new trainer, Darren Weir, has been the most trusted man of Australian Bloodstock. And having a lot of winning experiences in the previous Melbourne Cup events, it’s exciting to see how well the Japanese horse will perform with his new Australian team.

How Much was Admire Deus Sold?
Up until now, the price of acquiring Admire Deus is not laid out. However, reports have it that the Japanese champion has been purchased for a whopping six-figure amount. Knowing the horse's high caliber and upper-class upbringing, it's safe to say that it'll be well beyond the 500 grand mark. Put all of the sold off potential to the Australians, and it's pretty likely that the 6-year-old horse would have sold generously.

Admire Deus Statistics
Admire Deus is a winning horse, having finished fourth place in the recently held Tenno Sho 3200 meter race in Japan last April 30. It was the event that highlighted his career, echoing to the Aussies in pursuing him. Deus has a 20-5-2-4 career record, and a 1st up 5-2-1-1 statistics, which means that he's got a ton of potential tucked under his sleeves. Being six years of age, Deus is clearly in the prime of his career. And it's only a matter of time we'll see how good of a racer he is. Matched with the expertise of new trainer, Darren Weir, and with the Australian Bloodstock crew, it’s safe to assume that this Japanese-raised horse will be faring smoothly in the races to come.
