Plain To Bounce Back To Winning Ways

A pinnacle stakes over 1600m on the polytrack is one of nine races carded for Greyville on Sunday.

Among the eight runners carded to compete is former Equus Champion and dual Gr1 winner Seventh Plain (Seventh Rock), who will be trying the mile for a first time.

He ran five lengths off in the Gr2 Post-Merchants last time out and if seeing out the 1600m trip should be competitive here.

Seventh Plain, who will be making his polytrack debut on Sunday, is joined in the race by stable mate Breakfast Club (Visionaire), who is ridden by stable jockey Sean Veale. The five-year-old relishes the polytrack with all four of his wins coming on the surface. He reeled off two in the trot before finishing seventh over the course and distance behind Cutting Edge (A P Answer).

Lala (Visionaire) is another who loves the polytrack and gets 2.5kgs off her back thanks to apprentice Dennis Schwarz, while the seven-year-old Mumsy’s Jet (Jet Master) has been in cracking form of late and will be seeking a hattrick of wins when he lines up in Sunday’s race.

Duncan Howells will saddle two runners in the mile contest, in Wild Wicket and the Brazilian bred Nicklaus (Point Given). The former is yet to win on the polytrack but has been in good and the consistent son of Dynasty has been in the money in his last eight outings.

Stablemate Nicklaus gets the services of recently crowned Champion Jockey Anthony Delpech and was beaten just over two lengths over the progressive Maximizer (Querari) in the Listed Darley Arabian last time out and has a win over the course and distance to his name. Big runner here.

Secret Warning (Kahal)looks held on recent form, while bottom weight Mark My Card (Miesque) looks up against here although is receiving weight from her seven rivals.
