De Kock Buys Top Lot at Dubai Sale

Three year old bay Colt Trenchard (USA), purchased by leading South African and Dubai based trainer Mike de Kock, was sold for AED 700,000 and was the sales topper at the recent Racing in Dubai September Sale held at Meydan Racecourse..
Trenchard (USA), sold as lot 45, was previously trained by John Gosden in the U.K is by the leading stallion Elusive Quality (USA) and has an impressive race record of one win and two seconds from a total of five career starts.
Earlier in the Sale, Mike de Kock’s also purchased lot 40 Guernsey (USA) for AED 120,000.,
The Racing in Dubai Sale sponsored by the leading horse feed distributor in the Middle East, Al Basti Equiworld was hosted by the Emirates Racing Authority in association with Tattersalls with a total of 46 horses going under the hammer
In total there was more than AED 5 million spent on the future equine stars of the UAE racing industry.
The average lot price was AED 110,000 with only four horses exceeding AED 300,000, giving purchases and new owner’s great value for money.
Ali Rashid Al Rayhi training from Gandstand Stable at Meydan Racecourse was the leading purchaser from the Dubai Racing Club trainers, securing bids on six of the Sale horses, Janszoon (GB) being the most expensive of his purchases at AED 300,000.
