O'Brien King of Newmarket

CLEMMIE (IRE) made it three Group-race wins in a row when she taking the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes in impressive style at Newmarket on Saturday. The two-year-old filly ran a strong race under jockey Ryan Moore to give trainer Aidan O’Brien his 19th Group 1 win this season and became the only progeny of multiple champion sire Galileo (IRE) to win over six furlongs at the highest level. The regally-bred filly is out of Listed winning mare Meow (IRE) and is an own-sister to dual Guineas winner Churchill (IRE). “She would have no problem going to the Breeders' Cup, a mile on nice ground would be right up her street” reported Aidan O’Brien.

In the very next race, US NAVY FLAG won his second Group-race in as many months to give Aidan O’Brien his 20th Group 1 winner this season. The two-year-old colt arrived on the back of a Group 3 win at the Curragh and this was his first win at top level. Ridden by Seamie Heffernan, he pressed on in the final furlong to hold off stable mate Fleet Review to win by three parts of a length. US NAVY FLAG is out of the Group 1 winning Galileo (IRE) mare Misty For Me (IRE) and is a full-brother to Group 1 Falmouth Stakes winner Roly Poly.
