Enforced Christmas Break for Murray

Jockey Callan Murray Does not Appeal Suspension

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Port Elizabeth on 8 December 2017, Jockey Callan Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of BRING ME MORE (AUS) he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BURNING MIST leaving the 200m mark in Race 4 at Fairview Racecourse on 1 December 2017.

Jockey Murray pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Jockey Murray guilty of the charge and imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days.

Jockey Murray waived his Right of Appeal, and was granted permission to take his suspension with effect from 24 - 30 December 2017, both days inclusive.
