HASHTAGYOLO IN FLAMBOYANT WIN

Graduates of the 2016 National Yearling Sale are enjoying tremendous success this season, with the likes of Snowdance, Pietro Mascagni, and Sir David Baird all having been sold off that particular auction

Another top class performer sold off the 2016 National Sale is the unbeaten filly Hashtagyolo, who impressed everyone with a fluent win in Sunday’s G3 Flamboyant Stakes –the final feature race on the South African racing calendar for 2017.

Defying a muddling pace, and suspicions that she needed further, the Dean Kannemeyer trained filly made it three wins from as many outings with a convincing two length win over older rival Sail, with the Australian bred Roy’s Riviera back in third in Sunday’s 1600m contest.

Hashtagyolo was ridden to victory by champion jockey Anthony Delpech, who said after the win, “She really gave me a feel today. She’s something special –she’s a star!.”

The filly had previously won the KZN Fillies Guineas Trial after romping to a four length win on debut.

Bred by the Varsfontein Stud, Hashtagyolo was a R1 100 000 purchase from the 2016 National Yearling Sale.

Owned by Bruce le Roux and Tinus Gericke, Hashtagyolo is a daughter of leading sire Dynasty, who was also responsible for the very first South African winner of 2017 –Dynasty’s Boy.

Hashtagyolo, a half-sister to G2 The Debutante third La Revere , is out of the winning Jallad mare My Guiding Star, a half-sister to two stakes winners including G2 Premier Trophy winner and Varsfontein resident stallion Masterofmyfate. Her second dam is Equus Champion and multiple G1 winner Promisefrommyheart.
