SERGEANT IN COMMAND IN HK

SERGEANT TITANIUM (IRE) racked up his second win of the season - and the ninth of a fine career - in the Class 2 Bullish Luck Handicap at Sha Tin on Sunday.

John Size’s seven-year-old son of Rock Of Gibraltar (IRE) was bred by Herbertstown House Stud in County Kildare and has amassed more than €800,000 in the upper rankings of the Hong Kong handicap system.

He is out of the Paris House mare Southern House (IRE), a multiple Group race winner in Japan.

“When I first started training him, he looked a very nice horse. He was a beautiful mover, he's a lovely animal with great presence about him but when he went to the races he was very inexperienced,” champion trainer Size said.

“It took a while for the penny to drop but he has done a great job for us.”

Rock Of Gibraltar (IRE) is one of the stalwarts of the Coolmore operation and stands for a fee of €7,500 in 2018. The stallion has a very good record with runners in Hong Kong with winners from sprint trip to middle distances, including the 2008 Hong Kong Cup winner Eagle Mountain.
