RAMZAN FINALLY MAKES HIS DEBUT

The weather has dealt young 2nd year apprentice Yuzae Ramzan a cruel hand these past two weeks. Rain and inclement weather resulted in a wet track at Scottsville, which led to two race meetings being moved to Greyville. This meant that young Yuzae lost out on a number of opportunities to ride his first race up the straight.
However, the weather on Tuesday 24 April, was fine and Yuzae had his first two races rides at the Vaal racecourse. He rode GOLDEN ATTITUDE for Stanley Ferreira in the fourth race and CRIMSON MAGIC for Grant Maroun in the fifth race. Both horses finished their races towards the back of the field, but Yuzae was very positive about his first two race rides, saying “I would like to thank Mr Ferreira, Mr Maroun and the owners for the opportunity to ride these horses. I tried my best to follow the trainer’s instructions and really enjoyed my first two races rides! I would also like to thank the Jockey Coaches at the Academy for all their guidance and help and my family for their constant support.”
Yuzae is very proud that his first two race rides were qualifying rides and can’t wait for his next opportunity to race ride again. Lastly Yuzae was also very happy to have been at the Vaal to witness his good friend, Luke Ferraris, winning his first race and double, saying “it was an awesome day at the Vaal, I got my first two rides and Luke got his first two winners!”
