Piere Strydom scared the racing fraternity when he took a fall yesterday.

SAHorseracing.COM caught up with his wife, Claudia who updated us on the situation.

"He had an fracture on a vertebra and it showed up on the scans yesterday. The scan confirmed an old fracture and he is good to go but a recommended 1 week break is needed," mentioned Claudia Strydom.

Claudia was very complimentary of the medical team after the Delpech saga at Turffontein recently and wished to thank them for their efforts. She was a pains to mention the excellent job they had done for Pierre.

"As the horse was leaving the pens, the stirrup hit the stall and broke, as Pierre tried to put his leg into it he fell off, " she explained of the incident.
