Racing in Gauteng is in trouble as strike action has caused the scratching of all today's Turffontein runners from the Randjiesfontein training center.

It is said that the illegal EFF protest action has halted all access to the premises. Horseracing is well known for its lack of transformation at numerous levels but this action does no good for the grooms or the horses.

Race 7, the Listed Syringa Handicap has been cancelled, and entries will be reopened for next Sunday. 

For betting purposes only the field will apply in Race 7.
