The Cape Racing Awards was held the Vineyard Hotel in Newlands on Wednesday evening, the day before National Womens Day. 

The Greys Inn gelding Legal Eagle was crowned Cape Breeders Horse Of The Year. Bred by Avontuur Estate (led by a leading female breeder in SA), the Multiple Equus horse of the year is an aging wonder  He still keeps winning.
