REVIEW: CLAIRWOOD 2 MAY

RACE 1: MAIDEN JUVENILE PLATE 1200M

Star Of Liberty and Lady Supreme disputed the lead from Desert Silk and Lizard`s Hot Flame. Madly Matilda and Keen To Dance brought up the rear. At the 400m Star Of Liberty went a length clear of Lady Supreme and these two skipped well clear of the balance. Star Of Liberty found much more over the final furlong and went on to win easily from Lady Supreme. Keen To Dance ran on to take third with Lizard`s Hot Flame finding nothing to finish fourth.

RACE 2: MAIDEN JUVENILE PLATE 1200M

Sure Thing showed good early toe and led from Blackwatch and these two cleared away from Ton Of Talent and Chardin. Beturlastdollar trailed them. At the 400m Sure Thing traveled well in front with Blackwatch moving in comfortably and they were still well clear of the balance. Blackwatch came bounding into the lead at the 200m with Chardin making up considerable ground towards the inside. Chardin came home best of all to win comfortably at the wire from Blackwatch who had no answer to the winner`s finish. Sure Thing weakened badly but stayed on to finish a well beaten third.

RACE 3: MAIDEN PLATE 1200M

Northern Legend showed good early pace and led from Billy Grey who raced up into second after being slow into stride. Red Axe raced handy with Dive Master and Agisymba right there. Mean Machine raced a few lengths off them. Northern Legend still led at the 400m but ducked sharply towards the outside with Agisymba moving in. Mean Machine was cruising up to them just in behind. Northern Legend found more over the final furlong with Mean Machine coming strongly at him, but at the wire Northern Legend prevailed. Mean Machine took second with Billy Grey staying on nicely to finish third.

RACE 4: MR 70 HANDICAP 1200M

Last Caper and La Finesse disputed the early lead from Tramway`s Strike and Pound Foolish. Mr. Wonderful was just in behind with King Of Cool further back. King Of Cool was sent early and disputed the lead with La Finesse and Last Caper at the 600m. Mr. Wonderful was just in behind. King Of Cool then struck the front at the 300m with Mr. Wonderful moving in well between runners. Storming Rex was also finding a good finish right down the inside. But King Of Cool kept rolling at the 150m with Mr. Wonderful coming strongly late with along with Storming Rex. King Of Cool though just held on the wire from Mr. Wonderful in second with Storming Rex back in third.

RACE 5: MR 68 HANDICAP 1200M

King Triton was slightly slow into stride along with Purple Mist. But Purple Mist quickly made up the ground and led from He`s My Brother. Heroic Times was further back with The Assyrian. Ze Daniel raced next best with Teddy Boy and King Triton just in behind, whilst Joint Venture trailed them. At the 400m Purple Mist was still in front from He`s My Brother. King Triton still had some work to do whilst joint Venture moved towards the inside for his run. King Triton failed to get through initially and that allowed Joint Venture to get away from him along the inside. He`s My Brother was still right there. King Triton was then shown daylight and ran on powerfully but Joint Venture got first run on him and just kept finding at the wire and went on to win. King Triton was unlucky in second with He`s My Brother staying on for third.

RACE 6: MR 98 HANDICAP 1100M

Far Under Par was slow into stride and sat near the rear. Hot Spice and Consent To Conquer showed blistering early speed and cleared away from the rest of the field. Ravenscraig and Longford raced next best with Fallon and Finiin further back. The last two were Far Under Par and Scent Of Supremacy. Consent To Conquer picked it up from Hot Spice at the 400m with Longford moving in comfortably further back. Longford came through strongly to strike the front at the 200m from Consent To Conquer. Finiin was moving in further back. But just when it looked like Longford would go on to win young apprentice Brandon Lerena switched Finiin out and he came with an electrifying finish to win going away from Longford and Consent To Conquer.

RACE 8: MR 82 HANDICAP 2000M

Erre Lode overcame her wide draw and set the pace from Miss Teenage Dream and Op-En-Wakker. Seven Brides raced in fourth with Fuel The Fire and Moika further back. Studio Fifty Four raced just in behind. At the 400m Erre Lode found extra in front with Seven Brides moving in. Op-En-Wakker was still right there with Studio Fifty Four coming on in the center. Erre Lode kept going at the 200m but Seven Brides and Studio Fifty Four was coming strongly with Moika also finishing well along the inside. But Erre Lode found again at the wire and held off Moika who finished in second as well as Studio Fifty Four who took third, ahead of Seven Brides who faded very late.

RACE 9: GRADUATION PLATE 1200M

Eastern Marque showed good toe on the outside. Aylyth, Goldee, Cataprospect and Feast Of Flowers made that a line of five that showed the way. Orosami and Flicker Of Light were next best. At the 400m Feast Of Flowers moved in well with Orosami moving up to her. Flicker Of Light and Larsen`s Ice were also getting going. Orosami then came home strongly with Flicker Of Light. Larsen`s Ice was right there whilst Purple Patch moved to the extreme inside and was finishing strongly. The four fought it out strongly to the wire where Flicker Of Light got the verdict by a head from Orosami in second with Purple Patch a head further back in third and Larsen`s Ice, a close up fourth.
