Saxon Warrior was Green according to Trainer

Saxon Warrior, the disappointment of the Derby, sponsored by Investec, will have his next start at either the Irish Derby or the Coral Eclipse according to trainer Aiden O'Brien speaking to the media at Chantilly in France on Sunday.

Aidan O'Brien said: "All the horses we ran in the Derby seem to be fine. Saxon Warrior had never run on that type of track before and was very green and babyish in himself. We hope the experience will have done him good and that he'll have learned from it. He was drawn on the rail so he didn't really have any choice to be in any other position. I couldn't say he didn't stay as he wasn't stopping all the way up the straight."

O'Brien didn't commit to a race but wasnt overly upset by the performance. Meanwhile Godolphin's Masar will likely head to the Irish Derby as his next start.
