The race of year as some have put it turned out to be that and more as Do It Again stole the show with a scintillating off the pace run to win the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate.

Amazing Strike set the fractions with Undercover Agent in his usual near the pace run, Snowdance, Soqrat, Do It Again all further back and a few lengths off the pace. Hat Puntano did his race at the start wheb four lengths slow off. Rainbow Bridge was one from last coming into the home straight and had his work cut out for him.

The winner, Do It Again, came from off them and looked the best in the parade ring pre-race and ran accordingly. He was always midfield and started his run as the the front runners were flat to the boards in the straight. Soqrat looked like he had kicked at the right time and had stolen the race past the 200m pole but again it was that man Richard Fourie who had other ideas as he set Do It Again alight in the middle of the course and shot into the shadow of Soqrat. He then loomed up next to him and looked him in the eye, beat him in the final 75m and won a very nice race. The three year old Soqrat confirmed his generations formline with an smashing effort. It was possibly the run of the race under the circumstances as he traveled from Joburg for the Cape season for Mike De Kock.

The Snaith winner improved from the Green Point Stakes over a distance short of his best. He is the July winner after all and showed that that slow run affair was no fluke.

The talented Rainbow Bridge was set alight on the outside part of the track and ran a game third from near the back beating Legal Eagle who was well beaten this time around. Undercover Agent was further back in an excellent renewal.

"He gave me one good rush. I wasn't going to let Legal Eagle get away this time. It was a strong field but he is now the reigning champ and he will be hard to beat in the Met," commented Fourie post race. It was Fourie first Queen's Plate win.

"They say it was the race of millennium and I would not have choosen any horse than him in the field. He came on from the previous race and he produced today. So so happy to the owners," Trainer Snaith stated.
