The speed is on at Scottsville

There are four Grade 1 races at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Saturday as well as carryovers for the Pick 6, Jackpot 1 and the Race 7 Quartet.

The four Grade 1 races are all raced over 1200m.

The Golden Horse Sprint is a handicap for all horses while the other three – the South African Fillies Sprint, the Golden Horse Medallion for two-year-olds, and the Allan Robertson Championships for two-year-old fillies, are all run at weight-for-age terms.

Also run on the day will be the Grade 3 World Sports Betting Cup Trial over 1800m which is one of the qualifying races for the Vodacom Durban July on Saturday 25 July.

To give punters bigger pools in which to bet, there will be three carryovers going forward to the Scottsville meeting. The Pick 6 will kick off with a R250,000 boost and is estimated to reach R2.5 million.

Jackpot 1 – Races 5 to 8 – will get R100,000 added to the pool which is estimated to reach R800,000 while the Quartet on Race 7, which is the South African Fillies Sprint, will begin with an additional R100,000, has an estimate of R500,000.
