Enable was successful in her bid to make history after becoming the first horse ever to win the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes three times.
The six-year-old wondermare was sent off the odds-on favourite against the Aidan O'Brien pair of Japan and Sovereign, and duly justified those short odds with a storming finish to strike for Frankie Dettori and John Gosden.
The success was also Dettori's seventh King George victory, taking him level with Lester Piggott for most victories for a jockey in the race, with the rider overjoyed by Enable's performance.
"She's unbelievable," said Dettori. "John has done an unbelievable job to keep her going. Three King Georges has never been done before, and now we'll try the impossible and go for three Arcs.
"It's not surprising to see how good she is. I love her so much. My favourite girl!"
The victory took Enable's tally of top-level successes to 11, and she has been cut to 3-1 from 9-2 with Betfair Sportsbook to secure redemption in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in the autumn.
Sovereign made the running for much of the race but Enable began making ground on that rival after turning for home and there was no stopping her, roaring clear by five and a half lengths. Japan finished a further 11 lengths behind Sovereign in third.
Gosden said: "She's really trained beautifully for this race and is back in top order, there's no doubt about that. We've been thrilled with her at home. I was expecting to see that but life can be full of disappointment.
"I remember great horses like Swain and Dahlia, those who won it twice, so to come back from injury and win it three times and do it as a three, five and six-year-old, she's some race mare."
