Love into clear Arc favouritism as star tears them apart again in Yorkshire Oaks

Love has been cut to as short as 6-4 for October's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after the phenomenal filly ran out a comfortable winner of the Darley Yorkshire Oaks to collect her third Group 1 victory of the season.

The daughter of Galileo, who won the 1,000 Guineas and Oaks earlier this season, stalked Manuela De Vega throughout and made her move after turning for home, kicking on with ease under Ryan Moore.

Love had the race wrapped up about a furlong out as she gradually pulled further clear of her rivals, scoring by five lengths ahead of the staying-on outsider Alpinista with One Voice a further two lengths back in third.

Moore said: "She's very special. She's been exceptional this year and has absolutely thrived. She's just got stronger and stronger and has done it very easily today.

"Realistically it was her easiest task for a while. She was running against some unexposed fillies but they had to step up to run to her level. She's a very straightforward filly and it was business as usual."

Trainer Aidan O'Brien confirmed the Arc would be next on Love's agenda and the filly was slashed to 6-4 for that race (from 11-4) with Betway, while Hills trimmed her to 2-1 (from 11-4).

Love is now the clear favourite for the Arc ahead of Enable, who bypassed the Yorkshire Oaks in favour of the September Stakes at Kempton next month. Ghaiyyath, impressive winner of the Juddmonte International on Wednesday, is the general third favourite.

When asked about Love playing a prominent role in the Arc, Moore said: "It should be possible. We've always believed she's a better filly on better ground.

"It's always been at the back of their minds. It's six weeks away now so it depends on how she is between now and then as to whether she does anything in between."

The decision to go straight for the Arc means that Love will miss next month's St Leger at Doncaster, the final British Classic of the season, for which O'Brien has the favourite in the shape of Queen's Vase and Irish Derby winner Santiago.
