Coolmore United States Fees Announced

Coolmore America has set 2021 fees for its 16-strong stallion roster at Ashford Stud, with leading sire Uncle Mo, Justify (pictured)  and American Pharoah leading the team.

Ashford will welcome three new additions to the roster in dual Royal Ascot winner Caravaggio, who spent his first few seasons at stud in Ireland, multiple Grade 1 winner Maximum Security, plus H Allen Jerkens Stakes scorer Echo Town. Maximum Security and Echo Town's fees will be established at a later date.

American Pharoah, who broke a 37-year record when landing the Triple Crown in 2015, has had his fee reduced from $175,000 for 2020. The son of Pioneerof The Nile produced his first top-level winner when Harvey's Lil Goil landed the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland earlier this month.

Fellow Triple Crown hero Justify, who stood 2020 for $150,000, has had his fee trimmed to $125,000. By the late Scat Daddy, the imposing chestnut has seen his foals born this year, with in-foal mares selling for up to $3,200,000.

Multiple Grade 1 winner and champion Uncle Mo has had his fee increased to $175,000 (from $125,000 for this year), while Caravaggio, one of the newest recruits to the stud, has been set at $25,000.

First-season sire Air Force Blue will stand for a reduced fee of $10,000 (from $15,000), while Mendelssohn will continue at this year's fee of $35,000.

Charlie O’Connor, Ashford’s director of sales, said: "Our established sires have enjoyed great success on the racetrack this year, but in recognition of the challenging times we find ourselves in, we have reduced the fees of all of our sires yet to have runners with the one exception of Mendelssohn who we have probably under-priced all along.

"We have three exciting new additions to our roster and we look forward to watching Echo Town and Maximum Security continue to show their brilliance on the racecourse before they retire."
