Earth Hour Vs Viking Moon

Alan Greeff’s well weighted Chestnut gelding Viking Moon takes on the competitive gelding Earth Hour at Fairview today in the second leg of the World Sports Betting East Cape Poly Challenge (Non-Black Type).

A bonus of R250 000 is up on offer for any runner who can win all three legs.
A consolation bonus of R50,000 is to be paid for the horse that performs the best in the Challenge, however horses must participate in all three legs and win at least one leg.
Points allocation for the consolation bonus are: 1st 10, 2nd 6, 3rd 4, 4th 3, 5th 2 and 6th.

Viking Moon won the first leg over 1200m at Fairview last month.

The second leg of this challenge will be run over 1400m today and the final third leg will be run on Friday 7 May over 1600m.

Earth Hour received two points for running 5th in the first leg.
Luyolo Mxothwa who rode What A Winner in the first leg mounts up Earth Hour today for trainer Juan Nel today.

Nel has stated that “The Poly Challenge is his mission. I thought he ran very well in the first leg.” .

The 1400m of the second leg and the mile in the final leg on 7 May will suit Earth Hour much better.

The World Sports Betting East Cape Poly Challenge (Non-Black Type) is off at 15h28.
