What are the Races on the Fourth Day of the Royal Ascot 2021

Ascot, a town near Windsor Castle, is popular for its racecourse and the event owned by the Crown Estate. There are two tracks in the course, perfect for both flat racing and national hunt. Every year, the location hosts 25 race meetings. The event takes place in the middle of June every year, and it continues for five days in a row. During these five days, you can witness a series of different races every day. Last year, Battaash was the most popular horse at Royal Ascot after winning at the King's Stand Stakes. Let's see who will grab the attention of the crowd this year.

This year, the show starts on the 15th and will go on till the 19th of June. The organizers of the Royal Ascot will allow the spectators to witness the events. The fourth day also includes a Group 1 race (Commonwealth Cup) at the Royal Ascot. You can also take a look at the Royal Ascot tips & preview for day 4. Below, we will discuss the events taking place on the fourth day of the Royal Ascot.

The Albany Stakes is the first race you will witness on the fourth day. This match is eligible for the two-year-old horses. The race begins at 2:30 pm on a straight track of 6 furlongs. Anticipating the results in this match can be tricky as all the fillies in this match have little or no experience.

The next race begins at 3:05 pm, and only three-year-old fillies are qualified to participate in the King Edward VII Stakes. The distance of the course is one mile and 3 furlongs. The organizers place this race in Group 2. The track is right-handed turf inaugurated in the memory of King Edward VII in 1834.

The Commonwealth Cup is the Group 1 race of the three years old fillies and colts. This race holds amazing history, including the last year's win by the Golden Horde. The track for this race is straight with the turf surface. The participants will take their positions at the starting point at around 3:40 pm. To include this race in the Royal Ascot, the organizer removed the Buckingham Palace Stakes in 2015.

The Coronation Stakes is another turf surface race for three-year-olds. The track for this race is straight and covers a distance of 7 furlongs. This race, inaugurated in 1840, has an amazing history with remarkable participants. The race starts around 4:20 pm and is included in Group 2.
At around 5:00 pm, you will witness a flat handicap match with a distance of one mile. Three-year-old handicap fillies will participate in this race. Until 2001, people refer this race with the name Fern Hill Rated Race. However, the organizers replaced the name with Sandringham Stakes. In 2018, the British Horseracing Authority included new rules stating that listed and group race is different from handicap matches. Therefore, it changed the status of this race.

Now it is time for the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes. This is the popular race of the day with 1 mile and 3 furlongs of the track. This race, inaugurated in 1914, was referred to as Bessborough Stakes. However, the organizers changed the name to Duke of Edinburgh Stakes after 1999. This is another handicap match. It starts around 5:35 pm.

After the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes ends, you will witness the last race of the day. The Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes starts at 6:10. This flat race for handicap horses consists of one mile and 3 furlongs of the track. This is also an old race, inaugurated in 1914.
