Best 3 year Olds Stay in Joburg as Guineas first entries announced

The best three year olds in the land, atleast by the ratings, have decided not to be apart of the first entries for the Cape Guineas.

The highest rated 3yo horse in the land is Sandringham Sunmit and is rated by a margin better than anything else whilst the horses that beat him in the recent Dingaans aren't on the entry list either. Purple Pitcher and Gimmeanotherchance have opted out to date, first and second in the Dingaans.

Gimmeanotherchance, himself, is highly thought off, running a smart second to Sandringham Summit as a two year old and backing up that form in his Gauteng starts.

Robyn Klassen and Tony Peter have opted not to place Purple Pitcher or Main Defender, respectively, in the Guineas and are unlikely to race in Cape Town due to non-racing reasons.

The entry list does include the Sean Tarry's Tail Of The Comet, a highly disappointing last start loss, has tainted his reputation badly.

The Cape raiders are heads by Hluhluwe who is the highest rated horse at 111 along with Questioning.

First Entries are as follows.

2 Bristol Hercules Peter Muscutt 86
7 Captain Arrow Candice Bass-Robinson 98
11 Green With Envy Dean Kannemeyer 108
12 Hat’s Pride Glen Kotzen 90
5 Hluhluwe Justin Snaith 111
4 Jerusalema Rain Candice Bass-Robinson 107
3 Questioning Vaughan Marshall 111
10 Red Palace Candice Bass-Robinson 93
6 Snow Pilot Justin Snaith 109
9 Tail Of The Comet Sean Tarry 106
1 Zil Moris Brett Crawford 99
8 Zoomie Brett Crawford 101
