Double Superlative Retires

Snaith Racing has announced that Cape Met winner, Double Superlative, will retire to stud.

No stud plans have been announced as yet.

He came back from a career threatening injury where many would have retired, he healed and trained on..

"Despite having just won one of South Africa’s Premier Horse Races, the Owner felt that retiring him to stud, rather than taking any further risks, was in his best interests," said Snaith Racing.

He ruptured a tendon after the Cape Guineas Gr1 win two years ago and was described as one of the best he's ridden by Anton Marcus at the time. This, in his own words, made owner Nic Jonsson to think twice after total retirement after the injury and they persisted in getting the colt right.

His obvious courage to hold him in good stead for stud to go with his prodigious talent over the Mile and 2000m.
