Star Mare Imperatriz Retires

 Imperatriz, the remarkable champion mare of Te Akau Racing, has officially retired from racing. With ten Group 1 titles under her belt, including six victories in 2023 alone, she leaves behind a legacy of excellence that places her as the No.1 sprinter in the world and No.2 overall on TRC Global Rankings.

Throughout her illustrious career, Imperatriz showcased unparalleled talent and determination, setting track records and captivating audiences worldwide. Her owners and trainers, including Te Akau’s David Ellis and co-trainers Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson, express deep admiration for her achievements and gratitude for the joy she brought to fans.
