Ebony Flyer's Offspring, T'Challa, Claims Maiden Victory in Style

T’Challa, a colt sired by Kingman and out of the remarkable Ebony Flyer, secured his first win at Windsor this evening.

The 3-year-old colt, owned by Team Valor, maintained a prominent position throughout the race, ultimately surpassing the favorite, Midair.

T’Challa showed promise on his debut but was overly eager in his second race, resulting in a lackluster finish.

With Oisin Murphy reclaiming the reins from Kevin Stott, he skillfully guided T’Challa. Despite being a length behind at the 2-furlong mark, Murphy’s persistence paid off as T’Challa surged forward, outpacing his favored rival.

Ebony Flyer, T’Challa’s dam, was a luminary in South Africa, capturing three Group 1 victories across distances ranging from 1200m to 1600m. Her triumphs in the Majorca Stakes, SA Fillies Sprint, and Cape Fillies Guineas remain highlights of her illustrious career.
