Heversham Park Secures Time Thief at Nadeson Park Dispersal

Heversham Park made a notable impression at last week’s 2024 Mixed Sale, which featured the dispersal of Nadeson Park stock following the passing of prominent owner and breeder Hassen Adams. Among the standout purchases was the Australian-bred stallion Time Thief, a son of the legendary sire Redoute’s Choice.

Katerina Riley, representing Heversham Park, signed for six lots, including Time Thief, who was acquired for a remarkably modest R10,000. Despite his advancing years, Riley believes the stallion has much to offer. “He is a beautiful, noble specimen who deserves a good home,” she said. “He will be available to cover mares for a while, still.”

Time Thief boasts an impressive pedigree and a proven track record as a sire. In Australia, he has produced multiple black-type performers, including the Grade 1-winning mare In Her Time. His influence extends to South Africa, where his progeny include stakes winners Time For Love, Time Fo Orchids, Time For Glory, and the versatile performer Waheed.

This acquisition marks a strategic move for Heversham Park, adding depth to their stallion roster while honoring Time Thief’s enduring legacy. With Riley’s confidence in his capabilities, the stallion will remain active in the breeding shed, offering local breeders a chance to tap into his exceptional bloodlines.
