ARGONAUT BACK IN WORK IN AUSTRALIA

The dual Group 1 winner as a 2 year old, Argonaut (pictured), is back in training in Australia.

SAHorseracing.COM has learnt that the star galloper had "terrible problems" over the recent past but is back on the track and looks to target races in May or June according to a Lee Freedman stable representative.

Argonaut won the Premier's Champion Stakes by 5 lengths at his last start but is yet to make his debut in Australia after being sold and relocated after his 2 year old career. He also won the 1200m Gr. 1 Gold Medallion at Scottsville in his year. His only defeat came to Seventh Rock, who is also racing in Australia.

News on Group 1 winner, Seventh Rock, is that he has been bitterly disappointing in his three runs in Australia finishing unplaced in all three starts to date beaten in two Group 1's and a Group 3, his latest start, where he finished 4.5 lengths behind the winner in 7th last weekend. He was 16th, 6 lengths behind in the Gp. 1 Newmarket Handicap prior to that and a well beaten 7.5 lengths last place finish in his first start in the Lightening Stakes, Gp.1 in January.
