AT THE RACES DELIVERS UK RACING INTO SINGAPORE

At The Races, the UK and Ireland’s most watched dedicated horseracing channel, will today - Wednesday 5th August - launch the first regular supply of UK racing into Singapore. A new agreement with the Singapore Turf Club will see afternoon racing from ATR partner racecourses, and from certain French tracks, simulcast into Singapore every Friday. A further schedule of racing will be broadcast each Wednesday up until September 2nd 2009.

Under the agreement the Singapore Turf Club will simulcast UK racing on its Horse Racing Channel (HRC) which is displayed on-course, in off-course betting centres and direct-to-home to STC account holders. At The Races will receive a commission on all bets placed on the product by STC customers. ATR will pay its racecourse partners under the terms of their respective media rights arrangements.

Brighton and Newcastle will today be the first UK racecourses to benefit from the new international distribution, and from the influx of the Singapore punter’s betting dollar, as races from both the John Smith’s Raceday at Brighton and Newcastle’s Eaga sponsored card are simulcast by the STC.

As part of the agreement a regular schedule of French racing will also be distributed to the STC via a technical arrangement between PMU, France’s Tote, and ATR. This arrangement will allow STC to receive both UK and French racing via a single picture feed. Initially French content will largely feature races from Deauville’s summer season.
