Mythical Flight and Private Jet add the much needed spice to night racing at Turffontein on Friday with a mouth watering clash over 1000m under lights in a Pinnacle Plate.
The recently returned Mythical Flight will aim to lower the colours of the Woodruff Grade 1 winner, who has been off the track since his win in the Computerform Sprint in April last year. Beaten only once the Argentinian bred son of Orpen will test his form against the harden international campaigner in Mythical Flight.
Mythical Flight, a Grade winner himself and no slough over the Turffontein 1000m trip, had a largely unsuccessful international campaign in Dubai and England but will prove to be one to watch in his homecoming. He is hardknocking and once regarded as the best sprinter in the land when he went on an unbeaten run of seven wins in a row.
To add the mix the small matter of a horse called Warm White Night makes his first track appearance since landing the Cape Flying Championship in Cape Town in January. The likely favourite for the event is also no doubt warming up for the sprint races in Gauteng this season like his other highly rated challengers in Private Jet and Mythical Flight.
It has been a while since we have witnessed three 110+ rated sprinter in one race in this country and it will something to savour.
