RACE 1:Juvenile Plate 1000m Straight

TATANKWA ran a nice race on debut last time and with the majority being first timers experience can count. TOPSHOP is a decently bred first timer as is HANNAH GREEN. Watch the betting. OVER THE SEA is the only other raced runner here. He can improve. ROBIN'S HONOUR is another first timer who could be anything.

RACE 2:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1400m Bend

POLAR VIXEN has the form of the race. The Cape trained horse ran well last time on her local debut and should be the right one. POETIC LASS is a battling sort and is no champion but she always runs well and must be respected. NIGHT DIVINE is another that has to be given a chance on recent form. WORLD CLASS has come right in her last two and can continue that form. BUSH SAFARI is no good thing but she can sneak a place.

RACE 3:Maiden Plate 1400m Bend

This is the race where you load up. There is nothing to speak of. SECRET MAIDEN is very much a maiden. Her form is not very inspiring but does come in with a little less weight than the rest. Her form recently isn't all that horrible and can be the value. LORD OF ORANGE is the form horse of the race but not one to count on. GLAM ROCK has run twice in his short career and has some scope for improvement. He is no champion though. KASKAZINI is also not very good but he can pop up in the end. MARTIN MALONE has lost his way since his early juvenile form where he was an unlucky loser. He should continue his barren run.

RACE 4:MR 66 Hcp (F & M) 1400m Bend

CHARIYA is trained by Justin Snaith and comes down for the race. As this isn't a very strong race they must be confident of coming for the trip and picking up a win. She is by far the best runner in the race and is one to be with. INVERNESS won her maiden last time out. She can follow up with a big run in a race like this. MISS OLYMPIC has lost her way a bit but is capable of running well. MISTY FLIER has spots of good form but isn't too consistent. She can earn though. LITTLE MINX wasn't beaten too far in her post maiden run last time and can earn again.

RACE 5:MR 67 Hcp 1400m Bend

APPEALING WHISTLE won well last time in a similar class. She comes in with a decent weight and can be a nice on to follow. SYCO'S STAR looks the favoured runner in the yard due to riders. His last win was full of merit and must be respected. IN EXTREME is also from the Smith yard and his recent form is very good and must be given a chance. PHALEBAH has run with stronger and he is never beaten by far. He must be considered. CROWN COLONY is the best of the rest.

RACE 6:Ibhayi Stakes (Listed) (R125 000) 1400m Bend

NOCTURNAL AFFAIR comes up from the Cape. He has been racing with the best three year olds in the country and in this class he looks the right one. He was never beaten too far and is the one to beat. D J DETZKY is one of the more promising sorts in P.E and must be respected as he has done all asked of him. LECTOR won very well last time and that was full of merit. He could be the dark horse here. ALL ABLAZE seems held by D J DETZKY but he should be able to find the frame as he is never beaten too far. DANCING KIWI completes the Smith trifecta and can sneak a place.

RACE 7:MR 76 Hcp 2400m Bend

UNYAZI is the form of the race and has pole position. He does well over this sort of trip and looks the right one. SIYA VANA won very well last time over the distance when trying it for the first time. He can make a race of it. IN THE CITY won in stronger last time but got a huge penalty for the win. He has some to find but should be good enough to fight it out. GAWAIN always pops up when he loses form and he may think today is his day. EL RICHE hasn't done all that well since moving from the Cape but he can start to find his old form soon.

SELECTION: 1st:- UNYAZI ** (8); 2nd:- SIYA VANA (10); 3rd:- IN THE CITY (3)

RACE 8:MR 70 Hcp 1000m Straight

FAST FILLY won very well in her penultimate run. Last time she was well beaten but she can make amends. EBUKHOSINI is a bit of a camel but in this field he is a threat. He is never beaten by far so watch out for him. SMOKE TRAIL can pop up. She was very well beaten last time but may just upset on her form prior to that run. TARA'S WORLD is top weight and gets a useful apprentice claim. He may go close. FIND THE DELI is a minor money candidate.
