RACE 1:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1200m Bend

SILVALINE made a fair debut last time. Should improve. Watch the betting on the first timer, SPEED DIAL. BOUJIS has had a few decent runs and should improve soon to win her maiden. OPPIE KOPPIE improved by eight lengths last time. Piere Strydom has the ride. CRADLE SONG has had two fair runs. Looks to have scope for improvement.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SILVALINE * (10); 2nd - SPEED DIAL (11); 3rd - BOUJIS (2); 4th - OPPIE KOPPIE (3); 5th - CRADLE SONG (6)

RACE 2:Pinnacle Stakes (F & M) 1450m Bend

WITHOUT MALICE is in good form and is well weighted to win. CHECCETTI (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) must have a very good chance on her third to Igugu in the Ipi Tombe in December, even though she was almost seven lengths behind. MOUNT CARMEL did show improvement last time and did stay on that day. SKINNY DIP has very consistent form but may battle to win a race such as this. This is harder. POPPINS should also find this tough.

SELECTIONS: 1st - WITHOUT MALICE * (1); 2nd - CHECCETTI (2); 3rd - MOUNT CARMEL (6); 4th - SKINNY DIP (7); 5th - POPPINS (3)

RACE 3:Maiden Plate 1200m Bend

WYATT WEST has run twelve times for six seconds and five thirds. With form like that she should beat opposition like this. He did have excuses last time as he was found to be coughing after the race. Looks hard to oppose but also expensive to follow. INDIAN STRIKER made a fair enough debut last time. Should improve. BEOWULF has been improving with each run. Did set the pace last time before fading into fourth. TIGER'S RETREAT (Sean Tarry/Robbie Fradd) has had three decent runs. Can go close. CAPITOLINE shows pace before fading. Can improve.

SELECTIONS: 1st - WYATT WEST * (2); 2nd - INDIAN STRIKER (9); 3rd - BEOWULF (3); 4th - TIGER'S RETREAT (11); 5th - CAPITOLINE (5)

RACE 4:Apprentice MR 72 Hcp 1600m Bend

COCO STRIPES has won this C & D and he will be doing his best work late. WINTER UNION ran on to win over 1800m last time. Can repeat. IRISH GIFT has been off form lately but could be a possibility. Could pop up unexpectedly with the yard coming back in to some form. ZIZOU has not won in a while but could place along with MAKE SPACE who could be improving.

SELECTIONS: 1st - COCO STRIPES * (2); 2nd - WINTER UNION (4); 3rd - IRISH GIFT (1); 4th - ZIZOU (8); 5th - MAKE SPACE (9)

RACE 5:
MR 65 Hcp (F & M) 2600m Bend

SEA PASSAGE has placed third twice over this C & D in only two runs this C & D. Form is generally good even though she has only won twice in twenty six starts. PAMINA has fair KZN form and has changed stable. CABO WABO has inconsistent post maiden form. Won his maiden this C & D. May improve. HEYOUNEVERKNOW looks to be improving, albeit slowly. CAPTURED TIME could place with an apprentice claiming 1.5kg off 52kg.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SEA PASSAGE * (3); 2nd - PAMINA (5); 3rd - CABO WABO (7); 4th - HEYOUNEVERKNOW (9); 5th - CAPTURED TIME (10)

RACE 6:Grade 3 Three Troikas Stakes (R165 000) 1450m Bend

EXTRA ZERO (Sean Tarry/Robbie Fradd) won last time by five lengths when running on over a sprint distance. Must be respected on that win. SALSABEEL (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) showed very good improvement last time over the "mile" in the Flamboyant Stakes at Greyville on New Year's Day. Could improve further. AWESOME BEAUTY makes her Gauteng debut. Raids with some fair form. SHADOWS IN THE SUN ran on to win this C & D in a MR 73 last time. May find this tougher. GO INDIGO is never far back and two of her three wins have been this C & D.

SELECTIONS: 1st - EXTRA ZERO * (2); 2nd - SALSABEEL (6); 3rd - AWESOME BEAUTY (5); 4th - SHADOWS IN THE SUN (4); 5th - GO INDIGO (1)

RACE 7:Wolf Power 1600  (MR) (Listed) (R135 000) 1600m Bend

SELBORNE SUPREMACY (Sean Tarry/Robbie Fradd) bounced right back to form last time when winning a MR 94. All three wins have been this C & D where he is unbeaten. MEADOW MAGIC (Mike De Kock) has won his last three starts. Will be running on and his last three starts has also seen him running on. Stable companion, EMPENOSO HENN has raced in far stronger company. Anthony Delpech rides. SEAL has also faced some stronger Grade 1 fields. Has improved with blinkers and should not be ignored. GALANTHUS is a bit inconsistent but Piere Strydom has the ride again. Watch THE WHITE HORSE from the coming back to form, Geoff Woodruff yard.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SELBORNE SUPREMACY * (14); 2nd - MEADOW MAGIC (10); 3rd - EMPENOSO HENN (2); 4th - SEAL (1); 5th - GALANTHUS (3) DANGER: THE WHITE HORSE (5)

RACE 8:Grade 3 Tony Ruffel Stakes (R200 000) 1450m Bend

GOVERNOR GENERAL (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) won against weaker opposition last time but the manner in which she pulverised that field was impressive. One to be rather wary of. HEAVY METAL (Sean Tarry/Robbie Fradd) showed a return to form against weaker last time. Do not ignore. TANDRAGEE is holding form well. The Gavin Van Zyl yard is firing at present as is jockey Marthinus Mienie. AMERICANO beat HEAVY METAL by a neck last time. They meet at level weights which should not make any difference. POMODORO (Sean tarry/Weichong Marwing) ran on to win over 1800m last time. Good chance even though HEAVY METAL could be the stable elect.

SELECTIONS: 1st - GOVERNOR GENERAL * (9); 2nd - HEAVY METAL (10); 3rd - TANDRAGEE (2); 4th - AMERICANO (8); 5th - POMODORO (1)

RACE 9:Maiden Plate 1800m Bend

CAPTAIN VEDICI will be running on. Should be distance suited. Anthony Delpech rides for the improving Ormond Ferraris yard. GO GOLD has improve in his last three starts after a weak debut four runs back. UP ABOVE made a good debut for the Sean Tarry yard last time. JAROS has a claim on his last two starts. DEEP PURPLE improved by over fourteen lengths last time. Respect on that run.

SELECTIONS: 1st - CAPTAIN VEDICI ** (1); 2nd - GO GOLD (3); 3rd - UP ABOVE (14); 4th - JAROS (2); 5th - DEEP PURPLE (10)
