RACE 1:Maiden Plate 1200m Bend

WYATT WEST is proving expensive to follow but has excellent maiden form. From thirteen starts he has finished second on seven occasions and third on five occasions. With that form he should be odds on favourite again. DACHNIK is finding good form and should be the main challenger. NORTHERN STAR makes his debut. Watch the betting. STORMY GOLD also makes his debut. Again watch the betting. TOTSI PRINCE improved by ten lengths last time. Respect.

SELECTIONS: 1st - WYATT WEST ** (2); 2nd - DACHNIK (1); 3rd - NORTHERN STAR (10); 4th - STORMY GOLD (11); 5th - TOTSI PRINCE (3)

RACE 2:Maiden Plate 1450m Bend

WESTERN WAY may have won a neck decision last time had he not hung late on. Still looks like the one that they all have to beat. GLOBAL STRIKE (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) makes his debut. Is a well-bred Australian colt. Watch the betting. LAMOTTA has been improving again. CALLANDOR needs to find a good finish but Piere Strydom rides and could improve. TELLMEMORE has poor form but can earn a minor placing at best.

SELECTIONS: 1st - WESTERN WAY * (1); 2nd - GLOBAL STRIKE (8); 3rd - LAMOTTA (4); 4th - CALLANDOR (2); 5th - TELLMEMORE (5)

RACE 3:Maiden Plate (F & M) 1600m Bend

DANCE ALLEY looks like another good bet ion today's card. She ran on very strongly last time over this C & D. She finished a head back in second that day. BEAUTIFUL DAWN has steady form but respect with Piere Strydom aboard. SUMMER SARI also has steady form but fades late. THE SPECIAL ONE improved by thirteen lengths last time. Was still a distance back but may improve further. TRIAL BY JURY has shown nothing. Would be a shock winner and even for a place would pay well. The balance are no better!!!

SELECTIONS: 1st - DANCE ALLEY * (1); 2nd - BEAUTIFUL DAWN (3); 3rd - SUMMER SARI (2); 4th - THE SPECIAL ONE (4); 5th - TRIAL BY JURY (10)

RACE 4:Novice Plate (F & M) 1600m Bend

VIVACIOUS STAR has good post maiden form but did not show in a feature race last time. Should be the one to beat. TRAVEL UP FRONT ran well in her post maiden last time. Good chance. That was her first run in five months. MARKOFDISTINCTION has steady form and the Ormond Ferraris yard is back in form. Gavin Lerena rides. ALL IN THE MIND improved by eighteen lengths last time. Respect. FIERY may be improving but stable off form.

SELECTIONS: 1st - VIVACIOUS STAR * (2); 2nd - TRAVEL UP FRONT (1); 3rd - MARKOFDISTINCTION (9); 4th - ALL IN THE MIND (10); 5th - FIERY (8)

RACE 5:
Pinnacle Stakes 1800m Bend

GALANTHUS ran on well in the Wolf Power last time. Takes quite a drop in class from that race and should be the one to beat here. Is C & D suited. Piere Strydom rides again.. KNOCK ON WOOD (Ormond Ferraris/Anthony Delpech) did not show in the November Handicap last time. Good form before that run. SELBORNE SUPREMACY (Sean Tarry/Robbie Fradd) finished 2.5l lengths behind GALANTHUS last time but is 1.5kg worse off! May still improve. TITANO won well over weaker last time. Place chance. GLORIOUS JET is still improving and has won his last two. This will be much stronger.

SELECTIONS: 1st - GALANTHUS * (1); 2nd - KNOCK ON WOOD (2); 3rd - SELBORNE SUPREMACY (5); 4th - TITANO (3); 5th - GLORIOUS JET (9)

RACE 6:Graduation Plate 1450m Bend

FRONTINO GOLD (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) did not show in the Dingaans last time. That was a far stronger field that day and he should be a bigger factor this afternoon. AMATOL has steady form, is C & D suited but tends to fade late. GENERAL SHERMAN (Sean Tarry/Robbie Fradd) ran well in his post maiden last time. Will be running on and looks to be a promising sort. EUROSILVER did not show in a feature last time. Should improve on that run. TIGER FLASH has moderate post maiden form. May improve but not for the win!

SELECTIONS: 1st - FRONTINO GOLD * (4); 2nd - AMATOL (6); 3rd - GENERAL SHERMAN (7); 4th - EUROSILVER (1); 5th - TIGER FLASH (5)

RACE 7:Allez France Handicap (MR) (R125 000) 2200m Bend

ATLANTIC OAK (Mike De Kock/Gavin Lerena) has good form and won over further last time. She won on an objection that day. Chance again. FORMATION has won her last two starts (maiden and post maiden) by impressive margins by over six and five lengths respectively. Since she has found the winning formula she has shown some class. Both wins were on sand though, but consider nevertheless. GIBSON GIRL (Mike De Kock) has not won in a while but has steady form. AVENUE OF GOLD (Weiho Marwing/Robbie Fradd) has good form but against weaker. Keep an eye on her all the same. SACRED TEMPLE is not too consistent but can earn a small cheque. Won well against weaker last time.

SELECTIONS: 1st - ATLANTIC OAK * (1); 2nd - FORMATION (9); 3rd - GIBSON GIRL (3); 4th - AVENUE OF GOLD (6); 5th - SACRED TEMPLE (7)

RACE 8:
MR 77 Hcp 2600m Bend

ICE TRIGGER (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) has good KZN form and could have some improvement to come. INDIGO AMIGO usually runs on and should be right there. PERPETUAL SONG (Weiho Marwing/Piere Strydom) is never far back but sometimes lacks a finish. BAMAKO (Sean Tarry/Robbie Fradd) showed good improvement when racing at this track for the first time and also this C & D. AMERICAN GANGSTA ran on well to win over 1600m last time. Can pop up.

SELECTIONS: 1st - ICE TRIGGER * (8); 2nd - INDIGO AMIGO (3); 3rd - PERPETUAL SONG (4); 4th - BAMAKO (7); 5th - AMERICAN GANGSTA (13)

RACE 9:MR 72 Hcp 1800m Bend

SUN EMPEROR has improved in his last two starts, both over this C & D. SEEKING ANGELO (Mike De Kock/Anthony Delpech) did not show after gelding last time. may improve this afternoon. VICTORY BELT has been showing improvement. Runs on over this distance and is well suited to this C & D. BORODINO (Mike De Kock) disappointed when sent off as favourite last time. may have found the 2600m too far. BLACK ACES won his maiden last time. May need to confirm.

SELECTIONS: 1st - SUN EMPEROR * (7); 2nd - SEEKING ANGELO (4); 3rd - VICTORY BELT (13); 4th - BORODINO (1); 5th - BLACK ACES (10)
